13 Feb How does Zecca treat sun damaged skin?
Zecca offers Photodynamic therapy (PDT) to treat large areas of sun-damaged skin. PDT works by utilising a photochemical reaction to selectively kill sun-damaged cells. A photo sensitizer is applied to the skin and allowed to incubate for several hours. After that time, the client is placed under a light source which reacts with the sensitizer and destroys the sun-damaged cells.
Overall, patients with severely sun-damaged skin with Actinic Keratosis, mottled pigmentation, dull or sallow skin and skin laxity, may see good to excellent improvement with PDT. There can be improvement of large pores, non-pitted acne scars and active acne.
