17 Aug Stunning portraits that reflect the beauty of freckles
Brock Elbank set out on a journey to photography 150 portraits of freckled people around the world for his next exhibition in 2017. So far, the London-based photographer has gathered around 100 stunning portraits.
“I’ve always loved freckles,” said Elbank. “What I find interesting about individual characters that I have been fortunate enough to photograph is that many have struggled with their freckles since their infancy and either hated them, or grown to live with them or even like them in adulthood.”
“One subject I shot in September for the series spent a good three to four hours with me after the portrait, talking about how they felt as a kid, bullied, rejected at school for their appearance, which really shocked me as I found this individual amazing-looking.”
The series is still ongoing! So if you have some freckles to share with the world, just send a selfie to Elbank to find out if you can join the beautiful and on-going project.
