Skin Tightening Treatment

5 Best Non Invasive Skin Tightening Treatments

When looking for a skin tightening treatment, the ideal solution is something that is safe, effective and minimally invasive.

You want a treatment that addresses your concerns around skin laxity (aka sagging skin) and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles – all without having to go under the knife.

But with so many options available, how do you know which one to choose?

In this blog, you’ll discover what we think the five best skin tightening treatments on the market are…

1.

Laser Skin Tightening

Laser treatments are usually the first non surgical skin tightening options for enhancing skin elasticity and firmness.

A skin tightening laser will deliver long-lasting results with minimal recovery time, especially for clients with more advanced signs of ageing. A handheld device emits infrared light energy to heat up the collagen under the skin and make it constrict, which in turn, makes the skin look smooth and taut.

Some of Zecca Cosmedical’s laser options include Quattro Skin Rejuvenation and Fraxel Repair (aka Fractional Laser Resurfacing). Combining four treatments in one, our Quattro service is repeated over a 6-8 week period, taking a low and slow approach that’s perfect for beginners. On the other hand, one Fraxel treatment with a highly advanced Grade 4 laser can give you brilliant and instant results.

While they are mostly safe, clients with dark skin may need a tailored approach that minimises the risks of pigmentation changes.

2.

RF Skin Tightening

Another one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for skin tightening is radio frequency skin tightening (or RF).

An electromagnetic device is used to emit controlled radiofrequency energy. That energy then heats the top layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production and tighten the tissue.

RF treatments will lift and tighten mild to moderately loose skin on the face, neck, and body, offering noticeable results without surgery or extensive downtime. They will help smooth wrinkles, firm the jawline, and improve overall skin texture, making them great for clients looking for a subtle, natural-looking lift.

RF tightening may require several sessions for optimal outcomes, and follow-up treatments every few months are recommended to preserve collagen levels. While it is suitable for all skin types, results are most noticeable in those with early signs of ageing rather than severe skin laxity.

3.

HIFU Skin Tightening

A more intensive type of energy-based therapy is a high-intensity focused ultrasound, or HIFU ultrasound skin tightening.

Whilst RF treats the epidermal layer of the face, HIFU goes deep, into the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) layer. This is the layer that gets worked on during a surgical facelift!

HIFU, however, is non-invasive and uses ultrasound energy to penetrate the skin’s layers and target structural tissues for tightening and lifting. It is particularly effective for lifting the brow, tightening the neck, and reducing fine lines.

It should be known that results aren’t instant. They will start to appear over several weeks as collagen and elastin production increases, providing a gradual lift that can last up to a year or longer. HIFU is often performed as a single treatment, with annual follow-ups if necessary.

4.

IPL Skin Tightening

A common treatment for skin tightening and a wide range of other skin concerns is IPL skin rejuvenation (or intense pulsed light therapy).

Similar to laser resurfacing but not as in-depth, IPL delivers pulses of light to promote a boost in collagen for a subtle skin firming effect. It isn’t as targeted as RF or HIFU in terms of tightening but works more to give the face overall refinement in tone and texture.

It is also widely used to treat sun damage (i.e., lightening dark patches of skin), minimise the appearance of scars, and remove unwanted facial hair.

Here at Zecca, our Photofacial Rejuvenation skin treatment is a type of IPL treatment, with several sessions usually needed for visible results. As it primarily works to reduce pigmentation, it is not recommended for patients with dark skin tones, as it can cause discolouration.

5.

Skin Tightening Serum

You can also get good results with skin tightening products. Firming lotions are OK for the body. However, you need something more targeted and concentrated for the face, yet gentle enough to use every day.

Our Pep Up serum is designed to be used both morning and night to increase collagen and elastin levels in the skin. These work together to create a plumping effect. The combination of peptides and plant-based botanicals will leave the skin looking and feeling firm and soft.

Tightening serums are ideal for clients looking to extend and enhance the results of one of the above light or ultrasound treatments. They can also be used on their own for more subtle, incremental improvements with consistent use.

Pep Up is suitable for all skin types and is generally safe, but some people may experience slight irritation if they have very sensitive skin.
